FCCM is pleased to announce the launch of a new special needs prom beginning March 16, 2018. It will be everything you have expected from the previous proms. We will have dancing, karaoke, limo rides, pictures, the red carpet, take home swag, hair dressing/make up, shoe shining, food, and much more. The name may have changed but everything we do will be very similar to the past.

Many have asked why we are venturing out on our own. There really isn't an easy answer but it's not a complicated answer either. The main reason is a freedom to not stay within certain confines that have been requested in the past. Also, we have better ways to enhance the prom while being more fiscally responsible. I can assure you, that with these changes you will see alot less issues with waiting in lines and the annoyance of matching every guest with a buddy which has been a tedious process for many of you throughout the years. Our goal year in and year out is to give every guest a pleasurable experience, and now, we can move forward with much needed changes and not be restricted by anyone else's guidelines. We will always be grateful for the Tebow Foundation as they were an awesome resource and partner.

What changes are you to expect? I'm sure that is swirling in your mind as it would be if I were in your shoes. Here they are:

1. Date Change. We are moving the prom to a month later. It is our hope that the later date will provide us with a bit warmer weather. From this moment forward our prom will always be the third week in March.

2. No buddies. What has made the lines slow in moving for the past three years has been the buddies and registration table. To make the process faster and more streamlined, we will ask that you to attend the prom with your child/client. If you have ever attended our Summer Beach Party this is how we operate and find it quite pleasurable. In fact, most of you have slipped out of the chaperone room to attend the prom, too. If you call the church office and want to request a buddy, we can do so. But our top preference is for you to be their buddy for the night.

3. Time change. The time for the prom will be 7-10. This helps our volunteers to get to the church on time and ready to serve all of our wonderful guests.

4. Food. We will still have it but it will not be a full course meal. Rather it will be finger foods to load down your plate. With the time changing an hour later, that will give everyone the opportunity to eat beforehand. Even still, there will be a variety of food and desserts offered for the night.

Beyond those minor changes...nothing changes! If you have further questions, please feel free to contact Tim Bussey at (336) 996-7388 or at
